The Imaginaries

December 20, 2024  |  8 pm - 10 pm

Some members may recall a special duo called The Imaginaries, who headlined a local music festival in the DFW Metroplex this past October. They surprised and delighted us by making an impromptu appearance at The Rook’s very first Member/Guest Acoustic Song Swap, captivating the audience with a series of incredible songs. The 55 attendees were unanimous in their request: “Bring them back for a full show!” We heard you—and we’re making it happen.

The Imaginaries is an Americana band hailing from the open plains of Oklahoma, featuring the husband-and-wife duo Shane Henry (guitar, vocals) and Maggie McClure (piano, vocals). Their self-titled debut album, released in 2021, was recorded in the legendary Muscle Shoals, Alabama, with the famed “Swampers” and marked the start of their journey together as a band after years of individual success as singer-songwriters. Their music blends Maggie’s subtly sweet vocals and piano-driven style with Shane’s blues-rock grit, creating a sound that is both fresh and distinctly their own.

Over the years, The Imaginaries have shared stages with renowned artists, opening for the Brian Setzer Orchestra’s Christmas Rocks Tour and performing alongside John Waite and Judy Collins. Beyond the stage, Maggie and Shane have left their mark on the film world. They wrote and produced the soundtrack for A Cowgirl’s Song and made their debut as film producers with the music-driven family feature, starring Cheryl Ladd, Savannah Lee May, and Darci Lynne. Distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films, the movie is available on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Starz.

With over 75 song placements in film, television, and advertising, the duo’s reach continues to grow. Their music is featured in Netflix’s hit Mending The Line (the #1 movie on Netflix in March 2024) and the biopic Reagan, starring Dennis Quaid, where they also appear on camera performing.

Their newest single, “Whole Lotta Livin’,” features fellow Oklahoman Vince Gill on guitar and serves as the lead track for their eagerly anticipated upcoming album. Last month, they released the album’s second single, “Crossroads,” featuring the legendary Joe Bonamassa.

Don’t miss this special evening with The Imaginaries at The Rook as they close out 2024 with their signature blend of Americana and singer-songwriter brilliance—a night guaranteed to inspire and amaze.
