Max & Heather Stalling

April 04, 2026  |  7:30 pm - 10 pm

Max and Heather Stalling are returning to The Rook for a night of true Texas songwriting. Their last show in our room was one of the most talked-about performances of the year, and this one is set up to feel just as good.

Don Stalling will open the night. He’s Max’s nephew and opened the last time they were here, and he won over the room.

Max Stalling has been a staple in the Texas and Red Dirt scene for more than 25 years. His catalog includes six studio albums, three live projects, and a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame. He even left a career as an R&D scientist at Frito-Lay to chase music full-time, and he has played just about every Texas stage worth mentioning, including ours.

Heather Stalling is an award-winning fiddler and vocalist who has toured with Cory Morrow, Johnny Lee, and The Old 97s. She built her own band, blacktopGYPSY, wrote the music, and spent years playing nonstop across the state. Her sound is pure Texas, shaped by miles on the road and nights on stage.

Together, Max and Heather bring songs, stories, and harmony in a rare, intimate show built for listening. This one is going to be something special!
