Christopher Wright Duo

October 19, 2024  |  7 pm - 10 pm

Christopher Wright’s journey from the Piney Woods of East Texas to Collin County was shaped by his conservative Christian upbringing and a passion for classic country music, particularly Merle Haggard and Hank Williams, Jr. Despite a tumultuous family life, he found solace and purpose in playing guitar and writing music from a young age. As he grew, he was influenced by the emergence of urban hip-hop and grunge, adding new layers to his musical palette. High school and college were marked by both good times and trouble, including run-ins with the law and struggles with addiction. However, a diagnosis of acute liver failure in 2016 served as a wake-up call, leading him to embrace his faith and sobriety. Throughout it all, music remained his constant, ultimately saving his life. With a voice as deep and steady as a locomotive, Christopher’s music speaks to those seeking light in the darkness, offering hope and resilience.  In Christopher’s second performance at The Rook, he is bringing his keyboardist for a special duo performance as  part of our “Up & Comers” music series! Expect a healthy dose of outlaw country, southern rock and americana.
