Chad McCutchen

Born and raised in Harrison, Arkansas, Chad grew up surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Ozarks and the rich musical traditions of the region. Influenced early on by folk, bluegrass, and classic country—with a dose of heavy metal—his musical foundation was built on a mix of raw storytelling and high-energy soundscapes. After moving to Texas, Chad found inspiration in the state’s legendary singer-songwriters and thriving band scene, pushing his music in a new direction. Writing became a cathartic outlet, helping him channel life’s experiences into honest, straight-shooting songs with an old-school outlaw country vibe.
Honing his craft on the Texas Hill Country bar circuit along Hwy 281, Chad sharpened his live performances and deepened his songwriting. He believes in truthful storytelling—no gimmicks, no hiding behind the music—just real-life experiences put to song.
Many of you already got a taste of Chad’s talent at our last song swap/open mic night, where he put on a great performance in front of a solid crowd. A good buddy of Rook member Matt Johnson, Chad is proving to be a natural fit for The Rook’s stage.
